Recently Salt has had to face the unimaginable and close our doors. Ever since, Chef Chris has been tirelessly trying to figure out the most sensible short-term solution, while assuring we do our part in the containment of COVID 19. This entire situation has completely devastated us and turned our lives upside down. We put our heart and soul into Salt, and we’re overwhelmingly missing the daily dynamic we have with our staff and guests. Our Salt Family works diligently in creating a special experience for our guests and we all thrive from the feeling we get when it's well-received and we are all lost without it.
This pandemic has deeply affected the restaurant industry. Being a business still on the incline of growing, makes it even more difficult for Salt to sustain through all this. Our staff that rely on tips have especially been affected due to the consistent decline in sales over the weeks leading up to the mandatory shut down. Some have no family, no one to lean on for support and no means to subsidize income. They are our biggest concern. As part of the New Brunswick community, we feel a great need to help in feeding those are most in need, specifically to job loss. As well as support our local medical facilities, who are at the front line of all this. Preparation to provide meals for the local hospital staff and church are already underway with the help of volunteers from our Salt Family. It is not possible for us to operate without the hard-working and dedicated employees who are the backbone of everything we do.
So many of our guests, friends, and neighbors have asked what they can do to support us, we are extremely humbled by your generosity. Donations made here will go directly to aide our employees and provide free meals to our hospital workers and community members who are most in need at this time. I know we are ALL being affected right now and fearing the uncertainty of our future. Your continued support means more to us than you will ever know.
We look forward to the day we can open our doors and windows again. Working hand and hand with each one of our incredibly talented employees to serve our amazing guests. Get back to doing what we love to do. Life as we know it!
