#SallyStrong - No One Fights Alone

If we've learned anything from these past two years, it is that life is so precious yet so fragile. In the blink of an eye, your entire world can flip upside down and inside out.
Three weeks ago, my best friend, Sally Wright, received some earth shattering news. At only 34 years old, she was diagnosed with an unexpected and aggressive case of AML. If you know Sally, you know that she is all about love and light; spreading love and positivity at all times is her motto. Whether you are a close loved one or not, she is always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or share a smile. Unfortunately, this priceless disposition of Sally's has been severely threatened by her diagnosis.
What is AML?
Acute Myeloid Leukemia is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. If not treated right away, this type of cancer worsens rapidly and can quickly become fatal.
I am sure we are all asking the same questions.
She eats well, minimizes stress, has no family history of Leukemia, and doesn't smoke. How could this happen?!
What about her family? Her husband, Norris; her 3 children, Sylas (14), Abigail (8) and Julion (4). What would life be like for them without their Mother?
On December 18th, Sally was given the opportunity to leave the hospital for only two days to celebrate Christmas early with her loved ones. Once she left, she began the FIGHT for HER LIFE.
The incredible Oncology staff at Morristown Medical Center chose to attack Sally's Leukemia just as aggressively as it reared its ugly face; so on December 20th, Sally began 24/7 Chemotherapy along with daily blood, marrow, and platelet infusions. As you can imagine, this has been no walk in the park, but Sally is striving to stay her usual positive self throughout it all despite the extreme toll it has taken on her body.
Today, January 4th, is Day 15. Due to the current Covid spike, she has been unable to have any visitors. Despite having access to video calls and waves from her 5th floor window, nothing beats hugging your kids, husband, or loved ones for comfort. Aside from being physically draining, this has and continues to be a mentally taxing battle for my dear friend. We are only at the beginning of this fight with a long journey ahead.
How Can You Help?
This journey is going to need a village of support: physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially.
Sally, who is a self-made entrepreneur in the events planning business (@wrighteventplanning) and a geriatric case manager, will be unable to work for the unforeseeable future as she is expected to have a series of chemotherapy treatments over the course of the next 6 months.
Her husband and backbone, Norris, who has been struggling in the workforce that has and is still being affected by Covid, is now the primary caregiver for their 3 children from sun up to sun down.
The Wrights have worked so hard to build their own little American dream from the ground up, while still managing to give and support so many around them. My prayer is that we can help them in their time of need.
Please know that ANY little bit counts and is greatly appreciated. Shares of this campaign go a very long way too, so please help me post on all social media outlets for anyone willing to help.
Along with this, our friend Jessenia Cosme (owner of @JCsArtDesigns), has graciously created and added to her website a special collection honoring Sally. She will be selling #SallyStrong apparel for everyone to rock showing Sally and the entire world that cancer picked the WRONG one with Sally WRIGHT.
ALL proceeds made from these products will go directly to the Wright Family.
You may shop the #SallyStrong Collection here: https://jcsartdesigns.com/collections/sallystrong
Most importantly what this family needs is prayers, love, and all the positive support we can give them; that is the best gift of all. I will continue to provide updates as allowed on Sally's road to recovery and kicking AML's butt.
Please join us in letting Sally know that she is not fighting alone! #SallyStrong
