Sally’s cancer medical bills

My name is Heather and I met Sally about six years ago. We were paired up to be co teachers at West Tampa Elementary School. We met up with each other on a “date” and bonded over our mutual love of tater tots. From the moment I met Sally, I could tell she was strong, smart, and funny! Our personalities couldn’t be more opposite, but we worked together well!

Sally has been an elementary school teacher (and later on math coach) in Hillsborough County Public Schools for 16 years. She loves her job, the kids she works with, and is a great teacher- she even won Teacher of the Year! On top of her dedication of turning children into mini mathematicians, she’s an incredible daughter, sister, aunt, and friend!

Unfortunately, in August of 2023, Sally realized an abnormality in one her breasts. She got it checked out and quickly learned it was Stage 3 Invasive Breast Cancer. She quickly hopped into treatment (has had four rounds of chemo so far) and will be continuing it as the year continues on. She will also be undergoing surgery come June.

As a public school teacher, it’s hard enough to afford many things these days (like most of us). HCPS switched insurances in January and the new one doesn't cover as much as her previous insurance did. These medical bills are increasing and starting to drain Sally’s savings. She is also dealing with random hospital visits (aka more bills) from side effects to the chemo.

Any funds raised from this Go Fund Me will go towards deductibles, out of pocket expenses, and towards a wig to make our girl feel a little more “normal” since the chemo has also affected her hair.

I know times are hard for everyone, but if you are able to give anything, it would be greatly appreciated by Sally!
