Help create the Sally Dabrowski Memorial Art Prize
Donation protected
Sarah Rose Dabrowski (whom we all knew as Sally) recently passed away suddenly and peacefully on February 22, 2024, at the age of 75.
Sally devoted herself to two major pursuits: the arts, and youth service. In addition to a lifetime of creating artwork, she spent a decade teaching young children art at the Port Union Community Centre, and over a decade as a child youth worker at Neil McNeil Catholic High School, where she was loved by her students and her peers.
Sally was always looking for ways to further encourage youth to develop their artistic talents, and arranged many art competitions and extra-curricular activities for her students, believing in the power of art to heal youth and help them grow in a positive direction.
In memory of Sally, we are inviting you to make a donation to establish the Sally Dabrowski Memorial Art Prize, which will be awarded annually to a student in the Toronto District Catholic School Board who demonstrates excellence in art studies, via voluntary submissions from students and nominations from their teachers.
A donation to this fund will be used to establish an annuity in Sally's name, to pay for a small cash bursary for the annual winner. A target of $5000 in donations will make a modest annual prize of $250 possible, in perpetuity.
