Salina Rivera - A Heart of Gold

In 2006, at the age of 29, Salina was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and was only given one month to live. At the time, the best solution to keep her alive was to receive the LVAD, Left Ventricular Assist Device, as a bridge to transplant. In 2008, the LVAD was successfully removed because her heart recovered. Throughout the years, Salina has lived an amazing life and continues to do so with the abundance of support from family and friends like yourselves. On June 7, 2022, Salina’s team of cardiologist informed her that her heart has given it’s best and now she will need a heart transplant. Salina is in the best of care at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas on the heart transplant list. As we patiently wait for this miraculous gift, Salina’s heart is being assisted by a new device called the Impella 5.5 which is a newer and upgraded version of an LVAD. 

As you know, the heart is a precious gem to receive. However, the cost does add up rather quickly. Your generous donations will go towards Salina’s medical bills, copays, future equipment needed for recovery, etc. During this time, we would like for her family to focus on her healing without the worry of extensive medical bills.
