Abdul Salim Hamidi's story is one of hope, resilience, and perseverance in the face of adversity. Salim, a pharmacy school graduate from Afghanistan, fled to Turkey in 2022 to escape the Taliban's hostile takeover. After a year in Turkey, he finally received a visa to the United States in October 2023, where he, his wife, and their little daughter looked forward to a new beginning full of possibilities. Salim worked hard as a Pharmacy Tech at Walgreens and even got his driver's license to support his family. However, one night, life took an unexpected turn when he had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors diagnosed him with a brain tumor, and although the surgery was successful, he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Salim is the sole breadwinner for his family, and his wife doesn't speak English or know how to drive, making it difficult for her to support him. In such trying times, we want to extend our empathy and support to Salim and his family through a fundraising effort.
