On Monday, Aug 4th, there was a fire at Sal Gutierrez's, home. Thankfully he and everyone else is alright, but there was damage to their house. There has been approximately $20,000 in damage to his home where Pastor Adam's Life Group has been meeting over the summer, but his insurance is only wanting to cover $15,000 and has a $1,000 deductible which Sal is unable to afford.
Sal is an amazing and member of The Springs Church who at in his 60's is on a fixed social security income. He opened his home up to our life group and changed many lives over this past summer as we studied there. Sal always goes out of his way to make his home open to all who want to attend. Sal and Medgar even built a personalized handicap ramp to allow people in a motorized wheelchair to attend the Bible study. Sal not only has opened his home, but makes sure to take care of the church before and after service so that the auditorium is clean for everyone who attends.
Sal is such an amazing and deserving person of everyone's help, because he has done all of this after surviving a personal fight with cancer. Every day Sal continues to make sure to help everyone he meets, and tries to brighten their day. It is our turn to help our brother and give him the help he needs to repair his home and brighten his day.
