Clearly I am excited here, but also I am excited to share the news with YOU. The friends, the family, the strangers, the many people that have sprung up into my life to encourage me and help prepare me for this moment.
Drum ROLL PLEASE.
Yes you probably already figured it out by now, but I am going to AFRICA for a medical mission trip. Let me tell you how incredible God is in this. For years now, it has been on my heart to be cater to tiny humans in Africa in a spiritual, emotional, and physical way. I never knew how I would get there, but I knew it was a promise that God had placed onto my heart. I kept going back and forth with other trips, and even getting distracted at times. Up until one day. One day at church I was telling a woman, who was a complete stranger at the time, about a trip to Dubai that I was hoping to go on for a mission trip. She looked at me dead in the eye and said, "Don't go. His promise is Africa for you, He will fulfill that".
Fast forward several months, this woman has changed my life and brought forth an opportunity that I cannot even make up. Dr. Laurie Vervaecke has been in the ministry world for greater than 40 years and with that has established a plethora of relationships across many cultural barriers. I am blown away at how swiftly she has moved this opportunity into the front, but I can also see the work that God has been doing in the meantime. On this trip we will be traveling to three different facilities within the country of Malawi to see the medical work that is being done; with plans to return back at a later date with a larger team. BIG things.
I am soo excited about this (watch video if you do not believe me). God is so faithful when it comes to the desires that we have in our hearts, and in HIS timing He fulfills it and sends the right people. I could have easily gone on just about any medical mission trip, but there is something about this one that is going to change me. It is intentional, it is an obvious building block to more, and it is with someone that has become such a large part of my life and walk with Christ.
We will be leaving June 17-June 30., and the expenses of this trip will be going towards airfare, medical supplies, travel within the country.
