Salem's Stem Cell Transplant
Donation protected
My oldest child Salem has been sick with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH for short) for the last 3.5 years. This sickness has caused their red blood cells to be deformed, which causes their body to attack itself. Salem has been maintaining their condition for the previous three years with a bi-weekly medication infusion. In February, Salem became sick with Covid, and since then, their counts have been going down on all the markers that show they were stable. It is now time to proceed with a stem cell transplant. For the transplant, Salem and I will be spending the next four months, barring any complications, in Seattle working with the SCCA and Seattle Children's hospital. Sometimes, we will be staying in the hospital, but a large chunk of time will be spent in a transplant apartment, going back and forth between the different appointments. Our family will only have one source of income during this time which will be used for Ken and the boys to continue living in our home and day-to-day life. This transplant will be a long and stressful process, but Salem should be cured of their PNH. I'm asking for help with funding so that while we are in Seattle for those months, Salem and I will be able to focus on their health instead of worrying about how we will cover expenses.
Funds will be used for anything we need to get to make the trip, toiletries and incidentals, transport back and forth between our living arrangements and appointments, gas so that Ken and the boys can visit us a few times, and food.
If you cannot help, we will gladly take any positive energy and thoughts, prayers, and support. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
