Surfing dog Saint has gone to doggy heaven, and hopefully we all get there too. Serving as a pet therapist at French hospital, Carrillo Care and Danish care center, he’s been a healer. It's been traumatic on my close friends that were present and though I've been mentally preparing since last April, I been trying to not let my emotions go into rollercoaster mode, but sit with it and act when necessary. At a wedding in Malibu, Saint's wiring got him panting to hyperventilating into a 109 degree fever. I luckily saw a vet along the drive up to our campsite, and had him stablized. With an overnight, heart-wrenching stay, my bestfriend balling in the corner over Saint, Saint made it a stability where he was able to lift his head but not walk or urinate without being expressed. He was sedated enough the next morning for his transport back, and planned for his euthanasia as his labored breathing went into hyperventilating and we said our comforts and prayers, hugs and kisses.
