Saint, the miracle puppy
Donation protected
Hi! We're Crystalyn and DeJon, loving puppy parents to our fur baby Saint.
Saint was rescued (about to be put down) on January 15th of this year and has been such a blessing to our household. He's a little snuggle bug, loves his walks, and just wants to be around mommy and daddy. He's already taught us more than we could have imagined, and we love him beyond words.
The morning of Saturday, April 9th, we left the house to go serve at our church, preparing goody bags for first responders and then delivering them to various police stations, hospitals, CHP, homeless, women shelters, etc. After leaving the Walnut Creek Police Department, we walked with our group around the building, praying for the station, the community, and the people. We crossed paths with a gentleman who asked us to pray for him and experienced a truly divine intervention at that moment. No more than 5 minutes later, we received a phone call from our apartment leasing office telling us that our dog had fallen from our third-story apartment and was lying on the asphalt. At that moment, it was difficult to believe that God would have let this happen while we were in the middle of serving him, but God quickly dropped in our spirit that Saint was going to be OK and that we needed to declare that over and over.
An incredible neighbor came out and decided to take him to the emergency so we could meet them there. We arrived and saw Saint was conscious and aware (such a relief at the moment), and he immediately went in to be evaluated.
After waiting in the car for over an hour, we received word from the vet that Saint miraculously had no internal organ damage, and an x-ray revealed he had only one broken bone in his front left paw and likely some torn ligaments in both front legs. The vet couldn't believe it!
We are so grateful and beyond blessed that the damage was not worse! We were able to pick him up Sunday morning after staying with the vet to be monitored for pulmonary contusions. Saint is home now with casts on both front legs and in quite a bit of pain, but he's eating and drinking like normal, still loves snuggling with mommy and daddy and can't wait for his walks again!
We started this fundraiser to help with the medical costs we are incurring due to this, but more so to stir up people's faith. To have crazy faith that anything can happen and that miracles are waiting for you if you just believe!
The vet has strongly recommended an Arthrodesis surgery as they don't believe it will heal in the casts over time. While we're strongly believing he WILL be healed in the casts and will NOT need surgery, we are also trying to be good stewards and be prepared. The surgery would cost upwards of $10k on top of the $4k we're expected to incur from the emergency visit and bandage replacements over the next 6-8 weeks. We are so grateful for any amount or prayers that are put on your heart to contribute at this time. Any amount beyond our costs will be donated to local animal shelters to help other animals in need like Saint.
If anyone needs prayer for anything at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’d love to partner with you in believing for the impossible!
He's still smiling and so are we :)
