UPDATE(5/2/2020):  We have more exciting news!  We disbursed another $4,000 (including matching funds) to our teachers and staff at Saint Maria Goretti this past week.   That brings our grand total to $43,180 distributed directly to our teachers and staff.  We are so proud of our community!  Thank you so much for your generosity and support.  The teachers and staff have provided a special THANK YOU to everyone who has prayed for this special effort.

UPDATE:  We've been asked by GoFundMe to provide some additional information to all of our donors/potential new donors.  We are Rick & Nicole Beyer from Saint Maria Goretti Preschool/Kindergarten.  4 of our 5 children have had the privilege of attending this preschool and we couldn't be more grateful for the beautiful Catholic Foundation this school has provided.   This is a parent organized fundraiser, but we are working directly with our Director, Kate Strohmeyer to ensure our teachers and staff receive 100% of all funds raised from this GoFundMe fundraiser.  We plan to give the 1st disbursement of funds to our teachers and staff this week.  Each teacher/staff will be required to set-up a Venmo account (with the direction of Kate Strohmeyer) to receive funds as soon as possible.  We plan to keep this account open for future donations (our family will match dollar for dollar up to $25,000.)  If you would like to speak with Kate Strohymeyer directly, she'll be in the school office until her last day of service on 4/15/20.  The SMG office number is [phone redacted].

URGENT! Call to Action: for any current Saint Maria Goretti Preschool & Kindergarten Families and Alumni.  

The Problem:  SMG Preschool has closed permanently as of March 31st.  When our teachers and staff began the 2019/2020 school year, they did so under the promise that they would be paid through the end of the school year through August of 2020.  Now, we've learned their pay has already stopped or will stop within the next week.

The Solution:  We're asking every SMG family to consider reallocating their April and May tuition dollars into this fund to directly support our now unemployed teachers and staff.    We realize this might not be possible for some families right now, so please PRAY for our efforts.  In addition, PLEASE forward this plea to ANY SMG alumni and/or families with a special connection to  our sacred school.  God has called our family to match (dollar for dollar) all donations up to $25,000.  If any other family would like to match funds, please join us!   Just think, the more we raise, the easier the transition will be for our beloved SMG teachers and staff.  TOGETHER, we can impact the history of our generational school  with one final TEACHER APPRECIATION GIFT.

Note:  For the current families who have already paid tuition through the end of the year, Kate Strohmeyer confirmed the reimbursement checks were sent in the mail on Monday, April 6th if you'd like to consider redirecting these funds to this important cause.
