Team Aventurus - Sailing to Save Our Seas - ASPIRE Scotland
Donation protected
Update - we've had the oportunity to bring our reserve crew member along with us - which has seen our target jump up a little bit!
Thank you! We are incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors and supporters for helping us get closer to our fundraising goal. With just one month to go, our dream of setting sail is nearly a reality!
We are Team Aventurus, a group of Year 9 students from Brannel School, preparing for an extraordinary 1,300-mile sailing expedition with the Morvargh Sailing Project. Over 33 days, we will navigate the Celtic and Irish seas aboard the Helen Mary R, collecting ocean samples, taking direct environmental action, and raising awareness about marine plastic pollution—‘Sailing to Save Our Seas’! ⛵♻️
In collaboration with the University of Plymouth’s International Marine Litter Research Unit, we will gather crucial data on plastic pollution, comparing its impact across different regions. Through this research, we aim to highlight the dangers of single-use plastics and inspire real change.
This journey will be a transformative experience, allowing us to develop essential life skills through teamwork and hands-on learning. It will help build confidence, resilience, and determination—empowering us to make a difference.
Thanks to your support, our fundraising target is within sight! Every donation brings us one step closer to this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
This project is part-funded by Cornwall Community Foundation through the Duke of Cornwall’s Marine Environment Fund, ProBleu, and Roseland Youth Sailing Trust.
