Bill Tempro, who along with Jackie Hoad brought glory to Barbados in 1967 with a World GP 14 Championship win in Ontario, Canada, has sailed around Barbados previously with assistance. However, this upcoming October will be the first time that the 75 year old, who lost his eyesight while sailing some years ago, will attempt to circumnavigate Barbados alone.
Although 10,000 Barbadians have already been diagnosed with Glaucoma, it is believed that another 10,000 are yet to be diagnosed. We must put a stop to this silent disease.
