Hi my name is Shelly Awad, I’m based in the Netherlands and I am raising money for my dear friend Israa Hejji from Gaza, whose young son Saif suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Saif and his twin sister Sara are 5 years old and were born prematurely at 24 weeks gestation, as a result of this Saif developed Cerebral Palsy, he also experiences kidney failure, his vision is impaired and he is non verbal. Saif is a sweet and happy boy who loves the sound of his mother’s voice and loves it when his siblings play with him.

Due to the situation in Gaza, Saif has long been without his regular medication.

Saif is not on dialysis and therefore needs Darbepoetin to prevent kidney failure, Esomeprazole to counter his high levels of stomach acid that regularly causes him to reflux, ferrous sulfate to prevent iron deficiency and melatonin to help him sleep. Additionally Saif needs diapers/nappies, under sheets/pads, special milk with thickener in order for him to gain weight and syringes to feed him the milk.
