SAIC Admissions Student Worker Relief Fund
Donation protected
Economic hardships related to COVID-19 have greatly impacted students' ability to work their on-campus jobs. Hours have been drastically cut, pay has been reduced, and our students are struggling to support themselves, pay their rent, afford food, or make their expensive tuition payments.
SAIC students who work for the Admissions Office are crucial employees. They are the first connection a prospective student has with the institution; they are largely responsible for bringing in a new class every year (no small feat as 80% of the school's funding comes from tuition). Not only that, but they have helped to develop and execute ALL of our virtual programming since the campus's closure: info sessions, student panels, virtual tours, all while confronting the uncertainty framing their return to school this fall.
SAIC's Admissions Student Workers have also been organizing for school-wide anti-racist reform. Over the last few weeks they've put in HUNDREDS of hours of work, collecting testimonials from students, staff, faculty, and alumni; drafting and submitting a set of demands to school leadership; and meeting with staff, faculty, and student representatives across the institution. They have not been compensated for this incredible physical, mental, and emotional labor.
Their hard work can be seen on instagram @dismantle_saic and at saicsolidarity.org.

All funding will be distributed to SAIC Admissions Student Workers in need of assistance. Students are applying directly for funds that will be dispersed once the fundraising goal is met.
