Vaccinate a Village

Each day, nearly 567 children die from measles and rubella. Vaccinate a Village is a fundraising activity founded the American Red Cross Association that allows small communities like Saint Anthony’s High School to raise awareness and funds for vaccine-preventable deaths that affect children on a global scale. With a $2 donation, we can vaccinate one child against both diseases.

By donating and/or sharing this fundraiser, you can help save a child from deadly yet extremely preventable diseases to help make this world a better place. Thank you!

What is Measles?
Measles is a contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus that spreads through coughing and sneezing. It is so highly contagious that if someone has it, 9 out of the 10 people around that person will become infected if not vaccinated. Serious complications include pneumonia and encephalitis.

What is Rubella?
Rubella is a mild disease that can have grave consequences for pregnant women and their children. If infected with rubella in the first trimester, women have a 90% chance of giving birth to a child with Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) which often results in multiple birth defects including heart problems, deafness and blindness. More than 100,000 children are born with CRS each year. The lifelong complications and disabilities can have an immeasurable emotional, social and financial cost for families.
