The Village School has been a safe haven for students and families for over eight years, growing from a single room in a local church to a vibrant community in a dedicated education space. Our mission has always been to provide a nurturing, effective learning environment where every child can thrive.
This morning, our school faced a frightening incident—a car drove through the front glass, destroying our custom-built village play area and most of the imaginative toys. Thankfully, no students were present, as we are currently out for summer. However, the damage forced us to cancel summer camps, which would have helped us bridge the gap during a season with little income. Our dedicated teachers and staff responded immediately, cleaning up debris and working with a local company to secure the storefront.
Now, we are focused on making The Village School safer than ever. We plan to install four to five heavy security planters—each nearly 900 pounds of concrete—along the sidewalk to create a permanent barrier between the parking lot and our big glass windows. This will help prevent future incidents and protect our students. We also need to renovate damaged spaces and expand rooms originally built as offices into classrooms, so we can continue to serve more students.
We invite our community to share this fundraiser, donate, and spread the word. The Village School has always relied on word of mouth and strong connections between families and the community. It takes a Village to raise a child, and we want to be that Village for our families.
