Wilson & Roe Walkathon: Supporting Amelia Jarvis
Donation protected
At Wilson & Roe, we're proud to be coming together to support a cause very close to our hearts. We're fundraising on behalf of Amelia Jarvis, the brave younger sister of one of our colleagues partner's younger sister.
Amelia was born with Down’s syndrome and a severe heart condition known as Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD). This condition, along with her low muscle tone, has caused significant feeding challenges since birth. As a result, Amelia is fed through a gastrostomy tube - a surgically placed feeding tube that delivers nutrition directly to her stomach.
This tube is essential for her survival, but it comes with serious risks such as tube dislodgement and buried bumper syndrome, which can be painful and dangerous.
Amelia also lives with mobility and stability issues due to weak muscle tone and ligament laxity, meaning she is more prone to falls and injuries. For her safety, she urgently needs a specialist safety bed that provides soft, secure surroundings and prevents damage to her feeding tube.
These beds are not only life enhancing but life-protecting and they come at a high cost. We are aiming to raise £800.00 to purchase one for Amelia.
To support this, we are hosting a sponsored Walkathon from May to July, where colleagues will log walks each day with the goal of covering the 489.8 mile distance from Manchester to Paris—virtually!
We would be so grateful for any support you can give. Whether it's a donation or a share, every single contribution brings us closer to giving Amelia the safe, comfortable space she deserves.
Thank you for being a part of her journey.
Please donate and share to help us reach our goal!
