The Safer Sleep Suit is a purpose-designed, fully waterproof, padded outer layer created for people sleeping rough. It’s built to help keep people warmer, drier, and able to move quickly if they feel unsafe.

We’re launching our first Safer Sleep Suit pilot in Rockingham and surrounds. While we finalise our charity and DGR (tax-deductible) status, we’re not waiting to get started – because cold, wet nights aren’t waiting either.

Safer Lyfe Pty Ltd is a Rockingham-based social enterprise born from a simple overnight question at Rough It 4 Rockingham (2022): How can we make tonight safer for people sleeping rough? With Owen’s lived experience and Kris and Roxanne’s frontline view of the rental crisis through real estate, we saw the gaps up close, families storing their lives, couch surfing, and sleeping rough across Rockingham, Kwinana and Mandurah.

We exist to reduce harm, restore dignity and increase choice for people doing it tough. We work locally with lived-experience voices, services, councils and community partners to deliver practical safety solutions and advocacy that make a difference right now, while broader systems change takes time.

Our measure of success is simple: even if we save one person from attack, it’s worth it.
