Safecracking tour 2025
Hello
My name is Rick and I am a hobbyist safecracker from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I specialize in Manipulation, which is the art of opening safes WITHOUT any tools. This is done just by feel. I have opened many safes without damaging and I also don't charge as it's a hobby.
I have setup a bunch of safes to open up and need your help!!
I will be traveling to several places across rhe country and may do more safes if time permits.
I will be documenting my travels and adventures on my youtube channel and will be going live as much as possible.
If you enjoy the efforts to keep antiques from being destroyed, perhaps you can donate a few dollars.
FAQ:
Why don't the owners pay you to open the safes?
Many times people acquire safes from auctions or from family members and aren't really interested in safes. They are mostly interested in what's inside the safe, which is usually nothing. While I have a passion for preserving the safes, others are OK with the safes being drilled or damaged to get them open. Most of the time I have to convince the owners to be patient and wait for me to open it (or at least attempt to) open them without damage rather then give into the the temptation of busting the doors open. Because of this, I don't feel it's fair to demand payment when the owners are accommodating me, and since it a labor of love I don't mind giving my time. It's it my goal to preserve and cataloge the artwork and craftsmanship of these safes. Some of which are 120+ years old!
What will the funds be used for?
Most of the time airfare is covered. Sometimes people promise to cover the airfare and I get stiffed, but that's the risk I take.
The funds you donate will be used for food, accommodations(if needed), car rental(if needed), materials to make custom measurement tools and other expenses related to the production of the youtube content.
Do you guarantee to open the safe without damage?
No. Sometimes the locks just don't want to give me the information that I need to be successful. This is a very rare situation. However, I don't drill, and I don't carry any power tools, so I have every desire and intention to open it. I also don't stop trying until it's time to leave. There is no sight seeing or vacation activities if I don't open it. I'm there to do a job, not see the sights(unless I have time after opening it).
