Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read about our production of Safe Travels: a Jukebox jukebox musical.
*********************************
THE PLOT:
A storm has grounded all planes from arriving or departing at an airport in Nowheresville, USA—allowing four people to meet and, eventually, fall in love with the partner they never expected.
Safe Travels is a musical written as a love letter to romantic comedies, musical theater, rock and roll, and Jukebox the Ghost. The show is a low-stakes drama, high-energy filled, romantic comedy. It has strong LGTBQ+ characters as leads, and it even has a dream sequence ballet! It would join the ranks of great jukebox musicals of the past, such as Head Over Heels, American Idiot, Rock of Ages, We Will Rock You, and more.
*********************************
Safe Travels started as a small idea four years ago between myself and my roommate at the time, Ross. Over the next four years, this show would grow, change, and adapt to the world around us and is now ready for the world to see!
We are putting up a one-night read thru performance of the show for producers, industry insiders, and the band themselves Jukebox the Ghost, and we need your help! After two years in lockdown, the broadway industry has started limping back to prominence, but the infrastructure is not 100% back yet!
We are asking for your help for several reasons:
- We think the current trend of adapting already existing materials into a musical format trend is in its demise, and the people are begging for original content
- To help make sure all of our actors, band and crew get a decent paycheck for their work
- Finally, lawyer fees for licensing rights
We will accept any dollar amount you wish to give, and all donations $100 or more will get their name put in the playbill as a co-producer for this project.
Thank you, and we hope to see you at a future production of Safe Travels!
