Safe Surfaces for Enfield Athletics
Donation protected
We produce high performance Track and Field Athletes in our Suburban setting including Olympic Athletes, Junior National Champions, State Record Holders, and have our grass root Senior Athletic's Club and Little Athletics Centre and Special Olympics Athletics Training Group.
We are grateful of the support we get from Government and Local Government which covers a lot, but like Olympic Athletes we are always pushing to cover all areas. We have a need to make safe environments for Track and Field Athletes. We are in need of funds to complete a safe stopping distance after the finish line of our sprint track. Safely coming to a stop after the finish is so important and all our users will benefit from minimising injuries in this action. The project money is being stretched with council renewing most of our existing throw and jump surfaces, this is above and beyond the innitial planned work, we are very grateful for how far they have gone to add and have simply come to the end of funds.
The Synthetic Sprint/Hurdle Track is about to be built, the additional area for safety is quoted at $13,200 and is able to be added immediately to the project. Funds to add this are required in the next 2 months.
The project has two other areas (both around $35,000) that would also benefit being added to the project all of which are approved with council. I am looking to the future with these and other projects including a Circular Track, new Throwing Cage and Steeple Chase water jump.
