Safe Space Spain
Donation protected
Thank you for your interest in Safe Space Spain! Sámar Khalife and Rocío Fernandez are mental health professionals in Madrid who are and work with people from multicultural and diverse backgrounds. This group was created to cultivate a healing space for BIPOC to navigate, process, and articulate their thoughts and feelings in this ever-evolving social climate.
Each edition is made up of 5 meetings, all of which will cover different aspects of a racialized experience abroad and build on each other. Through guided discussions, participants will be encouraged to center their lived experiences and to foster community. This group will include dialogue on the effects of racism, microaggressions, coping strategies, self-care, emotional expression and what it means to be abroad in the process. However, it is not necessary to attend all five sessions of the support group.
Your donations will go towards attendee expenses and ensuring that BIPOC have the psychological and emotional support they need while abroad.
