Unfortunately, not all Eagles can return to the wild after recovery. These birds face euthanasia if they can cannot find proper placement at a zoo or other facility. There are no more in state placement options for these birds, and even nationally, the options of where an Eagle can go live permanently at a licensed sanctuary able to accommodate them, are few and far between. The birds that arrive injured have been shot, poisoned, injured by fish hooks & tackle, collided with boats and cars, and many other human related incidents. Many of these birds are young Eagles who haven't even had a chance at a long life in the wild yet, before becoming injured and having their lives ruined. We would like to give back even just a little that was taken away from them.
We desperately need a local safe haven for these birds to have a second option and avoid having to be put down due to humans interfering with their natural lives in the wild, and we are fundraising to do just that. We plan to build them a large habitat at the SkyWatch sanctuary for many Eagles to find a second chance and live out their lives in "retirement". With the joint efforts of CFRC and SkyWatch, they can not only get rehabilitation locally, but also a permanent placement option if rehab can't restore them back to their full ability to survive on their own once released.
Help us give them a safe haven to find a chance to " Soar Once More"
