This small equine charity started off 5 years ago, with a group of people successfully coming together to rescue 26 local abandoned dying horses.
Five years on and they are known throughout the UK, and even have some worldwide supporters, for helping horses where other charities have not been able to. To date, SAFE have played a part in rescuing well over 200 horses.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has reaped havoc, it has also seriously affected charities by stopping their fund raising events. Hardest hit are the animal charities as emergency grants have not been allocated to them.
SAFE are struggling, having moved premises and rented more land before the pandemic hit, with planned fund raising events to cover these extra costs cancelled. Now they find themselves with too little in the bank to cover their outgoings and around 40 horses in their care to feed and pay for veterinary treatment. Every penny donated is used directly for the horses and SAFE claim no overhead costs. We are currently run solely with volunteers.
They desperately need to raise enough funds to see them through the next three months, until hopefully they can rally and organise events again.
They would be so grateful for any amount you are able to spare to help them reach their target.
