Safe Housing Needed for Stephen and Pups

Help Me & My Dogs Stay Safe in Chicago

Story:

Hi, my name is Stephen. I’m reaching out because things hit rock bottom fast, but I’ve kept fighting — for myself and for my two dogs who’ve been by my side through it all.

After being forced out of a dangerously neglected Airbnb with no power, backed-up sewage, and unsafe conditions, I had nowhere to go. I’ve been trying to stay afloat while job hunting and keeping my dogs safe, but the costs of temporary housing in Chicago — especially with pets — are overwhelming.

Right now, I found a short-term stay near Wrigleyville for $130/night. I managed to cover 2 nights, but I don’t have the funds to keep this going. I’m trying to avoid ending up back in the street or in another unlivable place.

I’m not asking for luxury. I just need help securing safe shelter while I continue working on legal complaints, job interviews, and sorting out the mess I’ve been left with. Even a few dollars helps more than you know.

Funds will go directly toward:

Safe housing for me and my dogs (Airbnb/hotel until I can secure something stable)

Daily essentials (food, pet needs, transit)

Cell phone bill so I can keep applying and responding to jobs
