Safe Housing Fund for Rachel

Rachel, a friend from high school, is currently really struggling financially. She works as a nanny for families, but flare ups from a chronic illness have recently made employment, income, and safe housing difficult to sustain. Her current housing is often unsafe due to a resident’s substance abuse issues; she recently spent a night sleeping on the streets. Her family members distanced themselves years ago after she disclosed to them that she was a survivor of sexual assault, and her support network otherwise is small. In order to achieve a safer housing situation, she is looking for a nanny position with more regular hours than what she has at her current position.
