As some of you know, Creighton and I have been experiencing homelessness since July due to a combination of job loss and Creighton’s significant support needs related to his autism. I have been unable to secure employment because my son requires constant supervision and support. At this time, he is only able to attend school for one hour per day due to behavioral challenges, making traditional employment nearly impossible.

In addition to limited school attendance, my son has multiple therapy appointments each week, and we are currently on waitlists for additional services that are necessary for his stability and long-term success. We have attempted to stay in shelters, but his behaviors posed safety concerns for others, leaving us with very limited housing options.

We have been in and out of hotels, our vehicle, shelters, and couch surfing since July. With the weather getting colder, anything to help keep us out of our vehicle and sleeping in a warm bed for the winter while we work through waitlists and getting him regulated and able to access services would be greatly appreciated!

We are seeking short-term housing assistance for the next 6–8 weeks to provide stability while we continue working with schools, providers, and service systems to increase his supports and move toward sustainable housing and employment. This temporary assistance would allow us to remain safe and housed and provide some stability/structure he desperately needs during this critical transition period.

We understand it’s near the holidays and do not want anyone putting themselves out in any way to help us, but if you have a couple bucks that you could spare, we would greatly appreciate it.
