This is hard for me. It's embarrassing and I have created this and deleted this so many times but I am running out of options. My 2004 Subaru is near it's end. Before me and Amanda separated we never really used the Subaru to transport the kids but now it's my only option. Now that it has become my daily driver issues have started popping up constantly. There is no driver side mirror. The air conditioning doesn't work. Bernard can't fit behind me and I squish his legs. Everett's door is broken and he has to climb in and out through the front seat. His seat belt has also busted. Maybe most importantly the transmission is going out and the breaks are too. I am sure Amanda would help if she could but she is picking up so much slack in so many other areas.
For the entirety of the boys lives I have been a stay at home dad or a part time worker but mainly a mixture of both. When we separated I had only had a full time job for a number of weeks. I went into a massive amount of credit card debt just getting a deposit and first month's rent for a comfortable place and furniture for the boys. As embarrassing as it is to admit I barely make enough to cover rent and bills and groceries. And most weeks I am not even sure I am going to make that. If it wasn't for the urgency I wouldn't be doing this. I have a lot of things in the works to better my station but it's going to take a while and I need safe transportation for the boys right now. If it was just me I wouldn't care but I have to have a safe vehicle for my children and I am out of options on how to do that.
The ultimate goal would be to raise enough for a decent used car but if that falls short whatever donations will be used to try and fix the existing conditions of the Subaru. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it.
