Safe and Reliable Transportation for Jose
My name is Paul and I am setting up this GoFundMe for an incredibly selfless and hardworking individual named Jose. I have known Jose for almost 4 years. I was introduced to Jose through a construction remodeling project we were doing at our property in Chicago and he was one of the workers. After meeting Jose, we kept in touch - I asked him if he would be willing to help with any new rehab projects we had or maintenance work we needed done since he is skilled at many trades. We ended up leaving Chicago and renting out the property for the last three years. In that time, Jose has saved us over 50 times whether it was freezing pipes, broken furnaces, leaking toilets, drywall repair, clogged drains, or completely redoing an entire bedroom because of a major leak. He is one of the most loyal and selfless individuals I have ever met, consistently working from 7am to 10pm many nights to not only do his day job (construction), but also to help people like me, and his family and friends, with all sorts of projects and emergencies.
Jose lives over an hour away from Chicago, but makes the drive typically 6 days a week for his day job and other projects. Last Thursday (8/21), Jose's truck broke down on him for the fifth and final time (picture above). He has tried to keep this truck alive over the past few years, doing as many of the repairs as possible himself to save money, but also putting over $2000 into it in 2021 alone, only to have it completely die on him last Thursday.
I am fundraising to raise enough money for Jose to purchase a safe and reliable mode of transportation. Jose is one of those people who works so hard every day to provide for his family and take care of others, but has not been able to get ahead. His family has had multiple health emergencies (COVID being one of them), car troubles, and many other unexpected events happen to them in the past year, which has made it hard for them to save money for big purchases such as this.
We plan to donate $1000 ourselves, but we are hoping our friends, family, and co-workers who are able, would be willing to help Jose and his family obtain a safe and reliable mode of transportation. With your help, we want Jose to no longer have to worry about being able to get to work, having a safe vehicle for his wife and children, or ever have to think about what he will do when his car breaks down again.
Thank you - Paul
