Our beloved mamu Shafiq left this temporal world earlier this year, after suffering a major stroke.
Nobody mentioned his name except in goodness.
He always had a smile on his face and never complained about anything in life. He was kind hearted and generous, always giving even when he didn't have much himself.
He was a hard worker and would be the first to step forward in helping others, without expecting anything in return.
He left behind his parents, brothers, sisters, wife and although he had no children of his own, he always treated all of us - his nephews and nieces, with the love and kindness a father would show towards his children.
We have therefore decided to raise funds in order to commence a water well project in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan as a means of sadqa jaariyah for him. These water wells will be established in areas where it is difficult for the locals to get access to clean and safe water.
The Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: sadaqah jariyah (such as a well of clean water, masjid, hospital, Islamic charitable organization, etc.), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (the deceased)”
The funds will be collected by Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Ayaz and the work will be carried out through Dawat e Islami.
Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was the most generous of people and he was even more generous in Ramadan when Gabriel would meet him. He would meet him every night of Ramadan to study the Quran. Thus, the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him, would be more generous than a nourishing wind.
We are now in the last few days of Ramadan, the month in which the reward for good deeds is increased.
The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him said: "Charity never decreases wealth. Rather, it increases it, it increases it, it increases it."
Our aim is for this project to be a continuous work, helping those in need, as our beloved Mamu would always do.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him said: “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.”
