Sadi's Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kyle and this fundraiser is to help with Sadi's recovery. If you're here you know what kind of person she is. An incredibly hard worker, a caring and devoted friend and a loving mother. To me, she is everything. She is the love of my life and my best friend. I couldn't possibly imagine where my life would be if she hadn't stepped in my path and changed my course forever.
In early January Sadi came down with a respiratory virus, just like years past, we thought a few days of home medicine and a good amount of rest, would get her back on her feet. Small improvements led us to believe she was ready to get back to work, when things took a turn for the worse and she was crippled with extreme chest pains. Going back to the doctor we found that she had developed pneumonia and would need antibiotics and steroids to combat the infection. Little did we know, she was developing an empyema in her right lung all along. After another week, things had not improved, she couldn't sleep, had no appetite, and the chest pains were even worse. We made the decision to see the doctor again and this time, she was concerned that Sadi had no function whatsoever in her right lung. We hurried to an imaging center for a ct scan where we finally discovered the empyema. The ct scan showed a 6-and-a-half liter empyema in her right lung, crushing her heart and left lung. Devastated and confused, we rushed to the emergency likely just in time to save her life. We've now been in the ICU for 2 and a half weeks and have gone through 4 chest tubes, major lung surgery and more rounds of powerful antibiotics. With small improvements, more setbacks than we'd like, and many days of crying, we still have lots of hope on this long road to recovery.
Being new small business owners and having moved halfway across the country just a short year ago, we were not properly prepared with health insurance due to high cost, and not qualifying for any government programs. So now we find ourselves unsure of our future because of this major setback.
As you can imagine, Sadi is devastated that she has missed so many of her classes at the art studio. Her love of teaching and helping kids grow and develop is still unwavering. We want nothing more than to get back in the studio, get back to work, and be stronger than ever. If you can help in any way to get us on our feet again, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
