Sadie needs your help!
Hi friends, I'm Sadie!
I am a Staffy x with a wagging tail, a love for belly rubs, a need for naps in the sun, and a knack for making my humans laugh... even when they’re crying. Sadly, I’ve been on a big health journey lately, and I need a bit of help from kind hearts like yours.
In July 2024, I had 2 big surgeries to remove cancer located in my mammary chain which resulted in the removal of both chains. By the end of my recovery from this life saving procedure, I was feeling good and back to my energetic, crazy natured self. Life went on as it had before. And I’d thought I’d beaten it. But when my humans grew concerned 9 months down the track when I was yet to have my heat cycle since the big ops, I was hurled back down to my vet for a checkup and to book my desexing surgery. I was booked in for August 11 and was all set to go but my pre-op scans put a halt to that when they revealed a 6 cm mass on my left ovary. It was back. As I wasn't going to be having a litter of little ones, desexing surgery was the next step, mostly a preventative procedure to lower my risk of any future cancers. Unfortunately it found a way in the short window of time.
The vet says the best chance I have is surgery by a cancer specialist at Southpaws Mornington and sent my referral to them that very day. After my humans were informed about our options from the specialist, it was decided. I need to go back under the knife.
The problem? Specialist surgeries aren’t cheap. With the pre - op scans, the surgery, and recovery care, the cost will come close to $10,000. That’s a lot of treats...and unfortunately my humans can’t cover it alone after my last big operation.
If you can help – even just a few dollars – it will go directly towards my surgery which will give me the best chance so I can keep living my happy, goofy, tail-wagging life.
I’m not ready to give up on walkies, beach runs, naps in the blinding sun and my morning cuddles with my humans. And with your help, I won’t have to.
Thank you from the bottom of my furry heart (and my humans’ hearts too).
Love and licks,
Sadie
