One of the hardest things to hear in life is that someone you love is sick or hurt. It's even harder when there's little you can do to help them.
Sadie has been having back issues the past year and although I have seen her hurt, she has always pushed through and gotten better. The past few weeks have been downhill, though. Sadie's energy, her passion for chasing squirrels, and her ability to stand while she relieves herself has slowly diminished.
After weeks of bed rest, medication and lots of love, her progress has been little to none. Her ability to hold her back legs off the ground is barely there and most of the time she is covered in her own urine after going to the bathroom. Running, let alone walking is gone from her daily routine, as her legs give out on her and she tends to fall often.
After visiting the vet today, we have found out that Sadie will need to have back surgery or her pain and ability to function will get worse, possibly paralyzing her. The MRI to find the exact spot in her spine that has a disc problem, the surgery, and the medication cost a lot of money and although I wish I had it, I don't.
If you have one dollar to spare, please donate for Sadie and share this with your friends!
