Stand by Sweet Sadie

Our friend, our colleague, our sister, our teacher, and our mentor, Sadie Harris experienced an unexpected illness that cause her to be hospitalized three weeks ago.  Upon being admitted into the hospital someone that has been dealing with diabetes and dialysis was told that no circulation was in her left foot. She suffered continued pain which led to immediate surgery.  After the first surgery of the removal of four toes she again had to be rushed back to the hospital, one day after being released.  Once back in the hospital it was agreed by the medical staff because of no circulation and continued infection that amputation would be the next option. 


As you can imagine this has been quite a shock for  the Harris’ family. Her sister Trina has her hands full with taking on the responsibility of being her care taker, dealing with medical decisions, doctors and insurance. They don't know what the total cost of treatment will be or how long Sadie will be out of work.


We felt we needed to start something to help alleviate any financial stress so that Trina and Sadie can focus on her treatments and healing. Just like most,  we have known Sadie a long time.  Dating all the way back for some,  since 1996 from when she was attending “THEE Jackson State University”. We will continue to be by her side and help out whatever way we can.  The money donated will be used to pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help with daily living expenses. 


Sadie will have a very long road ahead of her toward recovery but with faith, love and support we know she will continue to have the strength, positive attitude, and faith to recover to the fullest extent.
