Sadie was abandoned in South Bend, IN & was rescued by South Bend Animal Resource Center. She was posted for adoption on Heartworm Positive Doggy Mom and Dad Support Group. Her Heartworm treatment would have been covered by South Bend ARC if it could be done at their location. We are 12 hours away so this was not possible. The day before adoption Sadie developed full blown pyometra. We went a head with the adoption & our vet had her brought straight to their office for exam & evaluation.

SadieMou had bloodwork & X-rays & a treatment plan was developed. She started her Heartworm treatment immediately following American Heartworm Society Protocol.

It was also determined that Sadie needed pyometra surgery as soon as possible as this was more immediately life threatening then the heartworms.

Her successful pyometra surgery was on Oct 31 & cost $1200+.

At the same time she was following the Heartworm treatment protocol. Her first Immeticide injection was on Dec 12. at a cost of over $700. SadieMou's started Prednisone & her next Heartworm hurdle is the back to back Immiticide injections on January 11th & 12th. The Immeticide (Melarsomine) alone costs $598. per dose. So that's another $1200+. Her total medical bills are expected to be over $3000.

Our vet has already successfully treated Odie for heartworm & SadieMou is doing great with her treatment.

We don't normally ask for help but with all our pet medical bills are adding up. Her medical care is not in jeopardy, we can continue to charge as we have always done.
