A dream Come true: Sade's Goes to College!

Hello,

I am Sade Munajj and I was born with a rare developmental disorder called muscular dystrophy and it has impacted me all my life. This disorder not only impacts my muscles but it also has impacted my speech, and my brain in a way that I am not able to process information and daily life skills like the average human being at my age. As a child, the doctors once told my mom that I would be in a "Vegetative state" my whole life and I would not ever be able to walk or even talk. Now in 2021, not only have I defeated the odds by being fully able to walk and talk, but I have found a college for adults like myself, with special needs, and they specialize in the one area I have yet to overcome, which is my independence.

While I have never had a shortage of love and support from my family and friends, I have had several challenges and limited resources to be able to get the training and specialized education I need to live the independent life I desire. This includes getting a job in a specialize field, being able to navigate daily life activities on my own like budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking, paying bills, and all the independent adult activities that some may take for granted.

I have seen all my siblings attend college and live the life of their dreams and now I'm asking all of you to help me achieve my dream of attending college. This fall I will be attending Shepherds College in Wisconsin, home of the Soaring Eagles where I will be enrolled into a 3 year long curriculum of rigorous training and educational development Specialized just for me... With your help of course! For the 3 year program at this private institution, Tuition will be $150,000.00 Total.

At this point, my disability benefits and financial aid that I have will only  cover half of the tuition cost each year. Since losing my father tragically in 2009, my mother has had the burden of assisting me financially and in daily life all on her own. Unfortunately however, with as much as she wants to help me manifest my dream, she simply does not have the financial resources to help me with this private college tuition on her own. So, I humbly ask you all to help me and my family make this dream a reality and make my deceased father proud in spirit. The goal amount I am seeking will help to cover the following expenses for the next 2 years;  Tuition, Room and Board, new coats/ supplies for that Wisconsin winter, Books, travel to my new collegiate home and miscellaneous Items I will need during my 3 year matriculation.
