One of our dear Uncle Mohammed Hafeel Shahul Hameed has passed away (إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ) and we wanted to support his journey to Jannah in sha allah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The best charity is giving water to drink and He was the most generous in giving charity.” (Hadith Ahmad), therefore we have decided to build a water well to support the people in Gambia.
Sadaqah Jariyah literally means ‘a continuous, ongoing, flowing charity’. While Sadaqah benefits the person who receives it on one occasion, Sadaqah Jariyah continues to benefit the people who provided it for a long time. We therefore also decided to complete an existing running orphanage centre in Gambia through the charity BQL. As the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) also said, “Whoever takes in an orphan among the Muslims to raise, to feed him and give him drink, Allah admits him into Paradise without a doubt, unless he has done a sin for which he is not forgiven.”
