Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of Khalil Mustafa

On October 4th, 2:22 AM, this world lost one of the brightest lights.

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ

Please take a moment to make dua or read Al-Fatiha for my beloved dad.

My father, Khalil Mustafa, passed away on 10/4/2023 at the age of 62 after a 232 day battle with lung cancer. Cancer is extremely unforgiving. My heart goes out to anyone who has either been diagnosed, or witnessed their loved one(s) battle this horrible disease. May Allah swt protect you and your family and loved ones. Ameen.

I could spend my entire life trying to put in to words what and who my dad was. It would never be enough to do him justice. It would be impossible even.

If you were lucky enough to have the honor and privilege to be in his presence, you were likely to experience a conversation with him, witness his contagious smile & laughter, indulge in his baked goods, receive the famous loving pat on the head, &/or be inspired by his strong love for Islam.

There is not a day in my life that he didn’t make me proud to be his daughter & my siblings and I will do everything in our power to make sure him & my mom know how proud we are to be their children. Alhamdulilah.

“When a son of Adam dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” – Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘Whoever constructs a masjid (mosque) for Allah (swt), Allah will construct a house for him in Paradise’. [Bukhari]

A masjid is at the heart of any local Muslim community. It is the most beloved place to Allah swt. My dad LOVED going to the masjid—hearts attached to mosques are chosen to be under the shade of Allah (swt) in the hereafter. May Allah swt guide us & plant the love in our hearts for our masajid in this life, so that we are amongst the ones under His shade. Ameen.

By building a masjid, a person will not only earn the reward of providing a community with a house of Allah (swt), but your Sadaqah Jariyah will continue giving benefit for generations to come, inshaAllah. And by having the intention of building this masjid in my father’s name, inshaAllah he will earn the rewards of it beyond his death.

With Muslim Hands, a masjid In Bangladash will be built inshallah. There is a huge need for a masjid in the area it will be built. People are currently gathering to pray in sheds that are overcrowded & overflowing with worshippers. The new masjid will be able to provide for up to one thousand worshippers at any given time, Alhamdullilah.
