Asalamu Alaikum,
This Ramadan is one I have been dreading.
A few years ago, I lost my beloved mum a pain that never truly left my heart and last year, I lost my dad too. Now, for the first time I am entering Ramadan without both of my parents. The emptiness their absence has left in my heart is indescribable. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t miss their voices, their duas for me, and the warmth of their presence.
In honour of them, I am raising money to build a mosque as Sadaqah Jariyah on their behalf a form of ongoing charity that will continue to benefit them long after they have returned to Allah.
My intention is that every prayer prayed in this mosque, every verse of Qur’an recited, every sajdah made becomes a source of light in their graves and raises their ranks in Jannah.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us that when a person passes away, their deeds end except for three, and one of them is ongoing charity. I can no longer do things for my parents in this dunya the way I used to… but I can still give on their behalf and continue to send them reward.
Ramadan is the month of mercy and multiplied blessings. I ask you from the bottom of my heart — please donate whatever you can, even if it is small. If you are unable to give, sharing this fundraiser and making dua for my parents would mean the world to me.
May Allah (SWT) forgive their sins, expand their graves, fill them with light, and grant them the highest ranks in Jannah. May this mosque stand as a legacy of khayr for them until the Day of Judgement.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for helping me honour my parents in the most beautiful way.
