Sadaqah Jariyah: In Loving Memory of Naimo Mataan

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

 

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

 

إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

 

"Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we will return." [Quran 2:156]

 

On Wednesday morning, our sister Naimo Mataan Geele, a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, returned to her creator after being killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident. May Allah (SWT) have mercy on her soul and grant her the highest rank of Jannah. May Allah (SWT) expand her grave, fill it with light and allow the fragrance of Jannah to enter. Ameen. Please keep her in your duas and gain the barakah of partaking in charity on her behalf these last 10 days. 

 

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA): The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

 

“When the human being dies, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”

 

Our goal is to build a water well in Somalia on behalf of Naimo to provide access to safe and clean drinking water to those in need. This well will be made in rural Somalia, where water scarcity is highly prevalent. In Sha Allah, this will be a means of Sadaqah Jariya (ongoing charity) for her, and she will reap the blessings.

 

Additionally, Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others.” (Al-Bukhari). So with this in mind, we hope to distribute copies of the Holy Quran during this blessed filled month.

Lastly, the remaining funds will be used to support the building of a masjid in Somalia, that was put on hold this past year due to insufficient funds.

As the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

 

“Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another, but that Allah increases his honour, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah, but that Allah raises his status.”
