Sadaqah Jariah for Baji Gazala

Bismillah hirahman niraheem,

Our Mum, Nano, and everyone’s beloved Baji Gazala.

With heavy hearts, we share that Mum peacefully passed away in her sleep on the 24th of December, 2024. She had been diagnosed with Parkinson's at a young age, but she faced every challenge with remarkable strength and grace. Her resilience was nothing short of inspiring, and despite the hardships, she always carried herself with an unshakable spirit. Mum's life was a testament to what true courage and love look like—her unwavering determination and boundless affection defined her every moment.

No matter the struggle, Mum’s smile never faltered. Even in her pain, she would never let it show. She dealt with everything quietly, never once asking, "Why me?" Instead, she chose to carry on, lifting others with her warmth and unwavering positivity.

Mum was also known for her love of cleanliness—everything had to be perfect. It became part of her essence. People still tell us how she would be up at 3 AM, scrubbing away, making sure everything sparkled, including the carpets that seemed to shine as if blessed. Her infectious spirit touched the lives of so many, and her impact is still felt today.

I could speak endlessly about Mum—the stories, the lessons, the memories. But I believe her Janaza spoke more than words ever could. Alhamdulillah, I knew how special she was in life, but the outpouring of love and respect at her Janaza deepened my understanding of the impact she had on everyone around her. I am forever grateful to Allah SWT for choosing me to be her child. The values, morals, and life lessons she passed on to me will always guide me and remain etched in my heart.

Though Mum is no longer with us, her legacy continues to live on in the countless lives she touched. Her positive influence is still felt each day, inspiring us to be better, kinder, and more loving, just as she was.

We treasure every story, every recipe, every tradition, and every moment spent with her. We are committed to keeping her memory alive, for she will forever be a part of us.

While our hearts ache from the loss of such a beautiful soul, we find comfort knowing that we can continue to do good in her name. Many friends have asked about ways to give in Mum’s honor, and so we have created a link for donations to support a cause that would have meant so much to her—an act of charity that reflects the love she shared so freely in her life, which will work as Sadaqah Jariah for her.

We will be looking at donating to one or a few charities so we can support more than one charities in her name. We will update this link as soon as the donations have been made.

May Allah bless Mum with the highest place in Jannah, and may her legacy of love and kindness continue to shine through us all. May Allah forgive her sins and elevate her ranks in Jannah and fill her grave with light and peace. Ameen.
