Sadaqah Jariah for Azhar Iqbal

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

It is with deep sadness that we’re having to write these words. Our beloved older brother Azhar Iqbal (Budi) suddenly passed away on the evening of the 11th of January, 2021.

For a long time Azhar had been suffering in silence with abdominal pain and complications, keeping his personal problems to himself to avoid worrying anyone. Not long after, he was diagnosed with Acute Liver Disease. He fought the pain and suffering patiently till the very end until he was no longer able to hide it. Our dearest brother is the strongest person we know, never letting his declining health ever take over his independence.

In his memory we would like to collect sadaqah in order to build hand water pumps/water well in the less fortunate countries. And a class room for children who are less fortunate. We shall also be donating to Islamic charities such as KORT Charity, Islamic Relief and Muslim Hands.

He had just recently spent his 39th birthday at home with us all together as a family not knowing it'll be his last. The night before his passing while he was hospitalised, he texted our beloved mother "I love you mum", and reassured her that he would be home soon only to never return.

He has left behind a 13 year old son, grief stricken parents and two heart broken brothers who are still suffering with the shock of such a huge loss.

Our precious brother will be greatly missed and the void of his absence will never be filled. There is no death, only a change of worlds and we pray that Allah SWT grants Azhar the highest place in Jannatul Firdous. May Allah SWT, The Most Forgiving, forgive our brother and wipe away his sins and may Allah SWT, the Most Merciful, shower His mercy upon my brother. Aameen sum Aameen.

Azhar was one of a kind, a unique character full of happiness and joy. He always shared his happiness with the people around him and made everyone happy and welcomed. His positivity would spread amongst whom he was around. Everyone he met loved him unconditionally. He would always greet everyone with a beautiful smile and a warm gesture that could never be matched. Azhar was the kind of person that could never see anyone else feel low, despite what he was going through himself, he cheered everyone around him up and made sure everyone was good.

The news of Azhar passing has left many heartbroken. He embraced everything that was given to him and still kept a smile on his face. He was a hard worker and went above and beyond for us all.  We would like to do something in which he will be rewarded for. Our goal is for the less fortunate people to have access to clean water, donate to the needy through charities and in return for them to remember our brother Azhar. All donations will be donated in Azhar's name. I want us all to donate so you are rewarded just as much as our brother will be. All of this will be organised by family. If you are able to, please donate to this beautiful cause. Where you are unable to donate, I ask you to please make dua for Azhar and share with people you know. May Allah accept all of our prayers and efforts. Aameen sum Aameen.
