﷽,
In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna ilillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
It is with great sadness that we announce on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, my beloved mother (Amina Buryar/Amina Warsame Farah) passed away in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from brain cancer (Glioblastoma). May Allah (The Most-High) have mercy on her soul.
I cannot begin to describe what my mother meant to me & my family. She will be missed dearly by family, friends & members of the community. She was the kindest person I knew & for as long as I could remember she welcomed everyone with a smile, a warm embrace, a meal & a shoulder to lean on for support. She was always there for others & she did her absolute best to help others with whatever she had.
Growing up, I remember she had a notebook filled with phone numbers of relatives & she would call each person (local & abroad) to check on them and see how they were doing. Even when she needed support herself, she would be worrying more about others & what they were going through. That's the kind of person she was, she was the glue that held us together & always encouraged us all to stay close to our relatives.
My mother had a rough life, but Alhamdulilah, she was able to overcome a lot. I watched her struggle firsthand and always wished I would be as resilient as she was. Sometimes I don't know how we would make ends meet, but she made it somehow. Even in her last moments, she was caring for others and making dua for them.
She is survived by her children: Abdulkadir, Fardus, Yasmin & Yusuf. As well as her grandchildren (respectively): Hannan, Mohamed, Huda, Hayat, Hedaya, Mohamed, Muna, Mustafa, Ayan, Nimco, Asha, Ahlam, Amina, Ayah & Amaana.
May Allah (SWT) have mercy on her, forgive her for her sins, elevate her station among those who are guided, widen her grave & grant her Jannah.
We ask Allah (SWT) to accept all of the good my mother has left on this world, forgive her of any shortcomings, and let her goodness shine through the hearts of the ones she's left behind.
As narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him.' (Saheeh Muslim).
As such, we hope to raise money in her honour to renovate Masjids & build wells in Somalia for those in need.
Ya Allah please forgive her and elevate her station among those who are guided in Jannah. Send her along the path of those who came before. Oh Lord of the worlds, enlarge her grave and shed light upon her in it.
