Sadaqah Jaariyah for our beloved Mohamed Asser

سلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

 

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.

 

 إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

 

"Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return." (2:156)

 

Our beloved brother Mohamed Asser passed away on December 13, 2021 as another victim to the ongoing gun violence in this city.

 

Mohamed was in the process of going to Humber College attaining a Business Administration Degree. Mohamed was a kind, sweet, gentle soul that brightened every room he entered. He was an amazing son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.

 

No words can describe the heartbreak and devastation this has caused our family, and community. To honour Mohamed’s memory, we the family, are setting up this fund in efforts for him to continuously benefit from ongoing charity. As such, we intend to build multiple water wells in Somalia, and donate the rest to an orphanage so that the children can benefit by receiving food, and clothing. Let us all come together as a community and help our beloved brother increase in good deeds!

 

This Hadith below gives us the good and comforting news that even after our death, Sadaqah Jariyah will continue to benefit us:

 

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (an ongoing charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’(Muslim)

 

We must continue to remember our loved ones that have left us, supplicate for them, give charity for them, and remain steadfast in the remembrance of Allah SWT and our true purpose in this world. May Allah SWT give Mohamed the justice he deserves in this life and in the hereafter, May Allah SWT have mercy on him and wash away and forgive all of his sins, and may Allah SWT grant him the highest level of Jannah.

 

Please donate and keep Mohamed and his family in your prayers. May Allah SWT raise his ranks in Jannah and grant his family sabr. We pray that Allah SWT accepts all of our duaas for our beloved Mohamed and may we be reunited in Jannah.
