Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullah
It has been three months now since the passing of our beloved father Maulana Malik Mohamed Fayyaz Adil Farooqi who left us on the 2nd November 2020. We have now created this GoFundMe page so we can continue to benefit him.
How can we begin to describe who he was...and what he meant to us and to so many people..he was one of a kind, with incredible love for all of Allahs creation and devoted to his own path of continued learning as well as teaching others. We, his children, however know him as the father and grandfather that loved playing peekaboo with babies and children, let children climb all over him while in his salah, shared jokes and ‘lateefas’ with family friends, joined us in our family games and crawled around on all fours chasing his grandchildren around the house. We know him as the man that went on the Nemesis roller coaster at Alton Towers while the rest of were too scared to go on. We know him as the man that loved a good joke and loved to smile. We know him as the man that loved nature and all the beauty of Allahs (swt) creations , he would not miss a single beautiful day and not show gratitude for it. Subhanallah these were some of the qualities that remind us of our beloved prophet Mohammed saw.
Our father also adopted many communities and other families as his own and was committed to several projects that were geared towards interfaith work, engagement of young people towards Islam as well as being a father figure to many people and his life was devoted fully to Islam and teaching others.
We know so many of you continue to keep him in your duas and have donated on his behalf as Sadaqa Jaria already. However we wanted to formally keep this going to continue to enable many of the projects he had started and make sure they continue to progress and gain momentum.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘Whoever constructs a masjid for Allah, Allah will construct a house for him in Paradise’. (Bukhari).
Many know of our fathers work over the years to build an Islamic Centre in North West London (registered with the charity commission, charity number 1173839).
The charity aims to provide Islamic education, inter-faith dialogue, Islamic Da'wah, prayer services, study circles and community cohesion activities and aims to establish an Islamic centre that is open to all cultures.
Therefore, In the memory of our Father the best way to honour him and continue to support him is to continue to support to raise money to build this Islamic Centre amongst a few other projects that were dear to our Father. The community has been raising funds for this charity for a number of years however we continue to need support as there is still a long way to go before enough funds are generated to purchase a building.
A Masjid is at the heart of any local Muslim community. It provides a place for its worshippers to pray and contemplate, as well as being a hub for educational programmes and other everyday services. Beyond that, the role of the Masjid is to help people extend their knowledge of Islam and to nurture their moral and spiritual development.
By building a Masjid you will not only earn the reward of providing a community with the necessity of a house of Allah, but your Sadaqah Jariyah will continue to flourish and benefit generations to come Insha Allah. I kindly urge all you brothers and sisters to donate in the name of Allah swt.
In addition to supporting this Islamic Centre, we will also be utilising the funds for the following initiatives:-
-Building water wells in countries where there is urgent need. “The messenger of Allah (SAW) asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “Providing water”. (Abu Dawud).
-Supporting orphans in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh as well as other countries where there is urgent need. The Prophet (saw) said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this’’ and he (saw) held his two fingers together to illustrate’. [Bukhari]
-A scholarship fund for those in Pakistan that will support secular and Islamic education for those that are otherwise unable to afford this. This will support not only one person but an entire family for generations to come. Additionally teaching others what we know of the Quran and the Sunnah is not just an act of charity, it is a deed that has the potential to outlive us and earn us rewards till the Day of Judgment. Because as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him” (Riyad us-Saliheen)
We Pray Allah gives anyone who reads this message firmness of Imaan and bestows his infinite mercy on them and eases their hardships. Our humble request to you all to keep us in your prayers.
Assalamualaikum
