Unfortunately in the past 2 weeks, 4 rescues kittens have earned their rainbow wings — Lilly, Louie and Lacey (7 weeks old). They have now joined their brother Leo, who passed earlier. And their mum. The siblings lost their lives to coccidia, a severe intestinal parasite that destroys the lining of the gut and is devastating in young kittens.

We also lost Julian, a beautiful 10-week-old boy, who was suspected to have a serious liver shunt or congenital liver disease, which severely impacted his growth and ultimately caused his collapse.

Watching them fight so hard and still lose them so young is something that never gets easier. Especially on their carers who loved them very much and thankfully passed away in their arms.

Recently, I have spent over $3,000 from my own income on two-weeks worth of emergency vet care (kittens with parvo, ringworm, digestive issues) diagnostics, medications, hospitalisation, and ongoing treatment for the cats and kittens currently in care. As well as on the 4 recently deceased kittens
