Sacred Soles run for MMIWG

Today, across the nation Indigenous people are joining together to bring awareness to the nationwide crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).

Our team “Sacred Soles” is made up of 12 Native American Women and we will set out to run 200 miles, May 29th and 30th as part of the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay  to bring awareness to MMIWG and to fundraise for the Sovereign Bodies Institute (SBI), an organization committed to building on Indigenous traditions of data gathering and knowledge transfer to create, disseminate, and put into action research on gender and sexual violence against Indigenous people.

Running is healing and as Native Women we know our prayers are strong. Our two-day relay run will be dedicated to our missing and stolen sisters. We will honor their lives with prayer, strength and the sacredness of our heartbeats across 200 mile course.

We know that when Native Women support each other we honor our ancestors and ourselves and we would appreciate your prayers and support. We thank you for your individual contributions and organizational donations and sponsorship. We would like to use your logo and or your name to acknowledge you and your support.

In Solidarity with our Sisters,

Team Sacred Soles
