Sacramento River Source to Sea Project

In the spring of 2021, three curious and adventurous women will launch packrafts at the headwaters of the Sacramento River and trace its journey to the Pacific Ocean. On an open-minded, fun and educational journey, they aim to deepen their personal connections to the river and learn more about the diverse stakeholders who share an interest in California’s longest river. The crew’s mission is to develop an inspirational and relatable story that raises awareness and empowers the public to take action on key environmental and social issues surrounding the Sacramento River and other hard-working rivers world wide.

The crew is Alyssa Winkelman, Arianna Kosel and Jamie Trapp. We are all experienced outdoorswomen with a keen interest in adventure, education and sharing our knowledge of the outdoors and environment. We also all rank empowering women and girls as high on our list of important values. 

The funds raised from this gofundme campaign will be used to cover the costs of filming and editing our short educational adventure documentary. Funds will also go towards food and any remaining gear we are unable to get donated, as well as travel for Jamie to come to California. Any additional funds will be donated to Sacramento River related organizations and projects selected by stakeholders we meet along our journey. 

We are hoping to have all needed funds raised by the beginning of March 2021. Your support will be infinitely appreciated. This trip is very important to each of us individually, but we also feel it will serve as an important public awareness project surrounding the social and environmental issues of the Sacramento River.
